Paul Nathanson ist ein kanadischer Kulturwissenschaftler. Er hat einen BA[wp] in Kunstgeschichte (1968), ein MLS (Bibliothek Service, 1971), einen BTh[wp] (Christentum, 1978), einen MA[wp] in Religionswissenschaft (Judentum und Islam) und einen PhD[wp] (1989). Er begann seine wissenschaftliche Karriere, mit der Veröffentlichung seiner kulturwissenschaftlichen Abhandlung Over the Rainbow: The Wizard of Oz as a Secular Myth of America ("Über dem Regenbogen: Der Zauberer von Oz als weltlicher Mythos Amerikas"), in welcher er sich mit der "Konvergenz von sakralen[wp] und profanen[wp] Mustern in der populären Kultur" auseinandersetzte.[1]
Zusammen mit Katherine K. Young[wp] hat Nathanson eine Reihe von Studien zum Thema Misandrie veröffentlicht, worin die Autoren zum Ergebnis kommen, dass sich eine Form von Vorurteil[wp] gegenüber und Diskriminierung von Männern und Jungen in der nordamerikanischen Gesellschaft institutionalisiert hat.
